Behind the Angel Tree Project

This month, the California Scholarship Federation program (CSF) at Memorial will be doing our very own Angel Tree. An Angel Tree is an opportunity for the student body to choose a child and provide them with a gift of their choosing. These children are from the Boys and Girls club along with the Evangel home.

There are many different parts to this donation project for the CSF students to participate in. We will be accepting donations until the last day of school, December 17th, in the media center. The hope of this project is that we can give these children the presents they are hoping for, since they most likely won't get presents any other way.

The first, and strongest part of this project is the promotion the group creates for the Trees. Without promotion, this project will fall unnoticed and we will let down the kids. Our promotion team has created posters that can be found around the school and the trees will be in the media center, which receives a lot of student traffic.

The decoration of the trees includes writing the kids information on the angels and decorating the tree with the angels and other fun trinkets. This tree will most likely be showcased on the schools social media to promote it, so making sure it looks presentable is important.

“Helping decorate the tree has been a gratifying experience for me,” said junior Abby Burkhart.

The third part of this project includes the logistics of the gifts, or collecting them and distributing them. I will be taking part in this aspect of the project, it will require a lot of organization and communication. This project can only be made possible with the help of our fellow student body, so don’t forget to donate!
