A.P. Literature taught by the wonderful Miss Frye is a class you will never forget.
Coming into class on the first day, I was scared and intimidated, because I have never been an avid reader. Throughout the year I have been able to read a number of classics, such as: "The Kite Runner", "East of Eden", and "Pride and Prejudice", just to name a few. A.P. Lit has changed my perspective on literature completely.
I was lucky enough to be in a smaller, more intimate class. We are grouped in teams where we work together on many group assignments and projects. Even better, you get to choose your group names! This is the wonderfully competitive part.
One of my favorite and more memorable experiences was when we had our "Pride and Prejudice" Tea Party AKA a fun socratic seminar. A variety of tea's, lemonade's and wonderful snacks were provided and we all had so much fun.
AP Lit is not a mundane class, rather it is filled with intense and intelligent conversations and discussions. This class really gets you thinking outside the book and in the real world- one of the largest takeaways from this class.
At the end of the year, Miss Frye holds an AUTHORity dinner, where each student dresses up as an author. These authors have been studied for the entire year. Our class recently held ours, and it was an amazing experience being able to get into character and interact with legendary novelists such as C.S. Lewis, Mark Twain, J.K. Rowling, and many more.
These are just some of the perks of this amazing class. 10/10 should take this class!
